VasundharaBahuguna is a self-confessed eternal optimist and believes that stories are all people have – to connect with each other and the world around themselves, language, age, gender, education, caste and creed notwithstanding. A writer and creative at heart, she is a lover of art, literature, music, travel and nature, not necessarily in that order! Vasundhara is an active member of the Delhi Storytellers’ Network.
At the KahaaniFestival, she will have two storytelling sessions and one workshop.
1) Stories from Childhood
Stories unite and ignite; they elicit compassion and an inimitable joie de vivre unlike many other forms of expression known to mankind.
In ‘Stories from Childhood’, Vasundhara brings to life tales that mesmerised her as a child and other stories that continue to charm the child in everyone. These stories amaze the young and old alike. They are marked by simplicity of thought, expression and an ever-complex emotion, all in the same breath.
All activity-based storytelling sessions will be interspersed with and followed by activities revolving around the story – poetry and jingles; puppet-craft; collage-making; painting and much more.
2) The Blab-Doodle Stories
“Stories that bedazzle, yarns spun to stun.
The blab-doodle duo brings you some fun.
Look how Blab babbles, see how Doodle draws.
Join them for some stories; join them for oh-oooohs!”
Sit rapt as you watch the Blab-Doodle Duo spin yarn after yarn. As Vasundhara babbles forth the stories, Chitrabrings them to life with her sketches…together with you!
3) Workshop: Spin-a-Yarn
It is a creative-writing and story-building workshop for children. These sessions will be marked by activities and various examples of collaborative story-building. She will also introduce some interesting ways and techniques to think differently about a story.
