Bulbul Sharma is an author and artist based in Delhi. Her works are a part of the collections of the National Gallery of Modern Art, Lalit Kala Akademi and Chandigarh Museum as well as in private collections in India and abroad. She has published several books which include ‘My Sainted Aunts’ (Penguin), ‘The Perfect Woman’ (UBS), ‘Anger of Aubergines’ (Kali for Women), ‘Eating Women;Telling Tales’ (Zubaan), ‘Now that I am Fifty’(Women Unlimited ), ‘Tailor of Giripul’ (Harper Collins), ‘Grey Hornbills at Dusk’ (Aleph), and ‘Love and Learning under the Magnolia’ (Westland, Amazon) amongst many others. Her books have been translated into Italian, French, German, Chinese, Spanish and Finnish. Her books for children include titles such as ‘Fabled Book of Gods and Demons’ (Puffin), ‘The Children’s Ramayana’ (Puffin), ‘Walking through the Hills’ (Tota Books), and ‘Secret Tales from the Himalayas’ (Good earth Publications). Bulbul conducts various painting and storytelling workshops for children with special needs and is also a founder –member of Sannidhi –an NGO that works with the village schools of Himachal Pradesh.
